That year, Joan Baez sang « Gracias a la vida » and thanked the life for have given to her so much. On the 23rd October , Annabel opened her eyes and started her first vocals. The legend said that she was born in a rose offered by Emmylou Harris.
Since her youth , Annabel was rocked by these two artists and shared with her parents the love for the Folk and Country Music.
She has started to sing on stage at the age of 14 with her friends then with professionals.Her encounter with Alain and Gerard Vedeche , french musicians from St Etienne , gave her the opportunity to improve her songs composition.She has been influenced by Emmylou Harris , Alison Krauss and Joan Baez.Her inspirations are from the every day’s life , glances , smiles ,some behaviours and words of people.
In 1998 , the choice of tracks for her first album was almost finished so recording session could start.Terry Smith, american compositor and author (J. Cash, A. Krauss......) met Annabel during a Folk music festival.He was charmed by this young singer and offered her several songs.Unfortunately,Annabel could keep only one tape for her next album.For this first record, it’s Gerard Vedeche who took care of the management and the arrangements.This album released in 1999.
She was invited to many festivals where she met and played with lot of other artists as Michael Jones, Yves Duteil, Jean Felix Lalanne (and a 28 strings orchestra); Graeme Allwright “the beatnik without uniform”.
In 1999 Charlie McCoy asked to Annabel to take care of the opening of his european shows. Annabel with Gérard Védèche started the shows by folk and acoustics songs. Charlie McCoy was won over by this performance. Since then Annabel accompanied every Charlie Mc Coy ’s french tour. Following this, a real complicity and frienship was born. And now, Annabel no longer is just the first party but she is fully part of the Charlie McCoy’s show. And this great friendship is easily detected during the entertainment.
Every folk and country music festivals have requested from Annabel to appear on their stage. Her name resounded on the international stages. Four musicians have made up “the Band” and accompanied Annabel during her shows.
In 2003 Annabel recorded her second album entitled “By My Side”. The latter is composed of seven original tracks and four repeats. This album is exceptional thanks to songs choice, arrangements quality and recording. Besides it has got a big coherence in the sound and has been carried out with “the band” musicians accompaning Annabel for her tour .On the other hand an hour’s programme has been devoted to Annabel by a famous journalist Georges Lang on RTL broadcast.
Lastly when we are listening to Annabel , we are overcome by a deep emotion.A huge generosity free from her soul.At the end of her show, we can’t stop whispering to her : ....”Thank You”.
